The complexities of homeownership and the many steps to get there can often feel overwhelming for aspiring homeowners. Often, the journey begins with attaining financial stability. The next steps, however, are packed with many variables that are difficult to navigate for those unfamiliar to buying a home. Which is why LEVEL prioritizes long-term financial literacy—giving our participants a path home.
Our LEVEL: Path helps to conceptually plot the “You Are Here” dot within the homebuying process.
What to expect during the first phases of LEVELING UP:
- Take our Homeownership Assessment
- We’ll ask for some basic info regarding your household size, income, and employment.
- Please be as thorough as possible as this gives the LEVEL Guide a clear snapshot of your needs and situation.
- Get connected with a LEVEL Guide
- You’ll hear from a homeownership specialist within the next week who will be your partner throughout the process.
- Our Guide will set up a meeting to discuss your home-readiness score and next steps.
- Stay on top of your budget
- When buying a home, setting—and sticking to—a budget makes a huge difference.
- Download a helpful budget sheet (and other helpful resources) here.

Financial literacy gives our families agency and ownership over their futures.
We empower clients to not only understand, but affect, their financial standing. In addition to regular check-ins and access to educational resources, LEVEL employs a data-driven methodology that helps visualize progress of achieving the dream of homeownership. Partnering with SureImpact, we’ve created a purpose-built software to manage, measure, and communicate where clients are on the LEVEL: Path. This interactive tool allows users to track where they began, where they are, and where they’re headed.
By investing in foundational best practices today, we lay the groundwork for lasting change in the affordable housing sector. As residents demonstrate financial proficiency, we get ever closer to breaking generational cycles of poverty. LEVEL strives to positively impact families today and for decades to come.
